“Massive Test Drive” Moves Cars To New Baxter Toyota Lincoln Location

On October 6, 2017, Lovgren helped organize a “Massive Test Drive” event to move more than 500 cars from the old Baxter Toyota Lincoln at 6320 Telluride Drive to the new location at 8600 S. 33rd St. The dealership asked for volunteers to help test drive the cars across town, and donated $10 to the Team Jack Foundation for each volunteer.

The Team Jack Foundation funds research for pediatric brain cancer. Andy and Brianna Hoffman started the foundation in 2013 to help children like their son, Jack, who has battled brain cancer and became an overnight sensation with his touchdown run at the 2013 Nebraska Spring Game.

As they were planning the move, “a number of customers just approached us and wanted to help in any way they could, so we decided to tie to the two together,” Tom Ballard, managing partner at Baxter Toyota, told the Lincoln Journal-Star.

A caravan of over 30 cars at a time drove south on 27th Street, turning heads along the way. The pace car in the first caravan of the morning, a black Toyota Highlander, was driven by the Hoffman family. After they arrived at the new dealership on Yankee Hill Road, Baxter Toyota presented them with a check for $5,000.
